Wishes and Temptations

I'm a big Fan of both Nightwish and Within Temptation's music, but I can't help but compare their performances on stage, and Within Temptation invariably loose. I my opinion they... lack passion when compared to a Nightwish performance.

Anyway, what do I know. I never went to a live performance by either band, this judgement is based solely on the concert DVDs I bought. In my opinion, From Wishes to Eternity is the best concert DVD I've yet seen. I'm still watching Within Temptation's The Silent Force Tour DVD, which includes 3 live concerts (I've only seen the first one so far) and, although I don't think it was a bad concert, it certainly lacked something to be a great one.

But thinking about Nightwish concerts just makes me sad I missed their first concert in Portugal, which will also be their last as the group we have known until now, due to Tarja's (the lead singer) exit from the group. Or more accuratly her beeing fired from the group...

I really wanted to see Nightwish live, but a combination of factors worked against me on this one. I only found out about the concert two weeks before the date, It was in the other end of the country AND to top it all off a week before the concert I was sent to Budapest on work... for a week: I only arrived the day after the concert. That's life for you.

Finally... Back from Paris!

I've been working in Paris for the last... oh, 3 months, basically.

Nothing against the city, but I was starting to miss home. Working in other countries is not all you may think it to be, especially when you end up working 10 or 12 hours a day and they only pay you 8...

Ah, well. I'm back now. Let's see if I can get back to updating this blog - although my readership so far seems to consist solely of a colleague from work and a f**cking spammer that used my comments area to put a link to some online dating site. <sigh> well, not everyone can have the readership that WW has... and frankly I don't know if I want to!
